I must be getting old, I ride like a Gold Winger!

Sunday, April 27th, 2008 Well, this is the year that my 40th Birthday approaches. As always, I can't fret it, I mean what can I do about it! I may as well celebrate, as I plan to enter old age kicking a screaming! I mean that is good cardo exercise, and it will help to be in good shape! So Sunday grew on, I had completed the chores that I wanted to do for the day, and the sun was going down on what would possibly be the last good day for a couple of days. My stomach was moaning, and I needed a treat. Close to six o'clock with the sun sitting, and the evening air cooling, I headed out. I took Tenth Street east to German Church Road. I went south on German Church, and arrived at you guessed it by the headline: Dairy Queen. Sure I had two other Dairy Queens much closer, and I even passed on of them, but I need to get some distance in! I parked the bike and headed inside for a cool treat. Texas Day 4: Under the Ground, Over the Road - Neither is a Place for High Heeled Shoes

April 4, 2006 Day four was to be welcomed as a short, leisurely drive. If you know anything about my trips, when I say it will be short day, you know you are in for a good story, as fate has a way of turning a few miles into many hours. So lets first start out with the bad. I was packing up the bike, early this morning, so not to incur Shooter's wrath for another day of tardiness. Upon returning to the room, the one I was sharing with Duncan, I walked through the door, and I saw Duncan, preparing for a shower, completely naked. This was not the wake call I every thought about having! "Duncan", I said. "I will need my eyes to see to drive today." Duncan replied, "Yes, and so." I replied, "Right now, I would like to gouge them out!" So now, lets shiver off the shakes of that memory, and head onto the good. A short road trip to Carlsbad Caverns. The morning was cool. Riding with Veterans

Saturday, November 10, 2012 I have a riding friend that I hadn't ridden with for a long time. Actually, both he and his wife ride, and I always enjoyed riding with them, and the company when we stopped. He had emailed earlier in the year to set up a ride, but we just never got it planned. He hit me up on email once more, and we planned to ride together in the Veteran's Day Parade in Indianapolis. Now, I am not a Veteran, but my riding partner is, serving in the Air Force during the first Persian Gulf War. She is disabled from what she experienced there with the oil fires and such, and so it is an honor to take her and have her participate in a parade in her and other's honor. We started at the Speedway American Legion, coolly numbered Five Hundred, and it sits just across Georgetown Street from the famous oval.
